After 2 seasons of owning the typical blue bubble wrap pool covers I was frustrated with them.
While they did help reduce the evaporation from the pool, the solar gains in heating were marginal and worse they degraded quickly.
I had to buy a new cover after only 2 seasons, and honestly should have replaced it before that. It’s wasteful and costly.
I found GeoBubble after those first two seasons. That was 7(!) years ago and I’m only now ordering my first ever replacement cover. I was worried about finding a supplier after so long!
The evaporative gains were equivalent, the lifespan is probably at least 5x longer and the solar gains? Wow. No other word for it.
I had the SolGuard model and the 15000G pool maxed out at about 94 degrees. It got so warm over summer I was taking the cover off overnight to cool it down a little.
Last year we were swimming comfortably in early April.

The evaporative gains were equivalent, the lifespan is probably at least 5x longer and the solar gains? Wow. No other word for it.
I had the SolGuard model and the 15000G pool maxed out at about 94 degrees. It got so warm over summer I was taking the cover off overnight to cool it down a little.
Last year we were swimming comfortably in early April.
GeoBubble is more expensive, no doubt. But the value proposition more than makes up for the difference. I can’t recommend it highly enough from a quality to cost perspective. Well worth the investment.

CoolGuard™ Ultra does an amazing job of rejecting U/V, which controls heat gain to keep the water temperature within limits.
As you can see in the included Temperature Chart, with full sun and temperature peaks well in excess of 110°F for weeks at a time, the water temp never got to 95°F, which is the setting of my Nocturnal cooling, which greatly reduces my electrical cost…
The CoolGuard™ Ultra has eliminated any worry of leaving my pool unattended for a month or more without any attention and I am able to relax at time away from home. We recently purchased an above ground temporary summer pool. We struggled to get 25°C (77°F) pool temperature due to overnight temperatures, but since our purchase of the Sol+Guard™ pool cover, today I have a pool at 32°C (90°F) and it stayed overnight at 28°C (82°F). I am very happy with the cover's performance and have already seen the temperature in my pool increase by 4°C (7°F) since replacing my old cover.
